To ensure that many students come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a mix of experiences and perspectives, institutions have a varied entry requirement system:

  • Standard Entry: Applicants are expected to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, which must include both English and Mathematics.
  • For Mature Students: Institutions understand that academic qualifications don’t always showcase one’s potential. If you're returning to study after a period, your relevant work experience could be taken into account for entry.
  • Alternative Qualifications: Institutions also accept BTEC Level 3, NVQ Level 3, and other nationally recognised qualifications as a pathway to this BA course.

Our teaching approach focuses on experiential learning and practical application, preparing you for the real challenges of the healthcare and social services fields. We emphasise hands-on experience, case studies, and collaborative projects. Assessment is based on continuous evaluation of your coursework and practical skills, without any formal examinations.

Upon completing the CertHE Skills for the Workplace (Health & Social Care) course, you will be well-prepared for various career opportunities, including:

  • Healthcare Assistant: Providing vital support to patients and medical professionals.
  • Social Worker: Assisting individuals and families with social issues.
  • Care Manager: Overseeing and coordinating care services.
  • Community Support Worker: Supporting individuals with disabilities in their communities.
  • Nurse: Pursue further education to become a registered nurse.
  • Mental Health Support Worker: Helping those with mental health challenges.
  • Youth Worker: Supporting the well-being of young people.
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant: Aiding patients in regaining independence.
  • Residential Care Officer: Caring for vulnerable individuals in residential settings.
  • Health Educator: Promoting health and well-being in communities.

For UK and EU Home Students:

  • CV: If you don't have formal qualifications, a CV showcasing 2-5 years of work experience is necessary (the exact period might vary depending on the university).
  • Passport/BRP: Essential for identity verification.
  • Proof Of Address: To confirm your residential status.
  • Qualifications: Provide any academic qualifications you possess, if available.
  • EU Settlement Status (Share Code): A crucial document for EU students to confirm their residency rights in the UK.
  • Personal Statement: A comprehensive essay, usually above 350 words, detailing your aspirations, reasons for choosing this course, and your relevant experiences (specific word count might vary depending on the university).
