To apply for the BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • 112 UCAS points (or equivalent) for direct entry.
  • Specific Entry Requirements:
    • At least one science or health-related subject at A level, BTEC, or equivalent qualification.
    • GCSE (or equivalent) grades 4/C in Maths and English (at least one science subject is desirable).
  • Non-native English speakers must have an IELTS score of at least:
    • 6.5 in writing,
    • 7.0 in reading, listening, and speaking,
    • Minimum overall score of 7.0.
  • All applicants will be required to attend an interview.
  • Successful applicants must complete an Occupational Health (OH) Check and an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check.

  • Passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level.
  • A pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus:
    • Passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or

  • A Vocational A-Level Double Award.
  • A Vocational A-Level Single Award plus:
    • Two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or
    • Passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level.
  • A BTEC National Certificate or Diploma.
  • A completed T Level award.
  • A Scottish Certificate of Education with:
    • Passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher grade, or
    • Passes in four subjects all at Higher or New Higher grade.
  • A full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate.
  • An Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.
