To enrol in the BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering course, applicants must meet the following academic qualifications:

  • GCE Advanced Level: Passes in two distinct subjects; or
  • Combination of GCE Levels: A pass in one GCE Advanced Level subject plus one of the following:
    • Passes in two distinct GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level subjects.
    • A Vocational A-Level Single Award.
    • Two Vocational A-Level Part Awards.
  • Vocational A-Level Double Award: Equivalent qualifications accepted.
  • BTEC National Certificate or Diploma.
  • T Level Award: A completed qualification in a relevant area.
  • Scottish Certificate of Education:
    • Passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher Grade; or
    • Passes in four subjects at Higher or New Higher Grade.
  • International Baccalaureate: The full Diploma.
  • Irish Leaving Certificate: Passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher Level.
  • Additional Requirements: GCSE Grade C/4 or above in specific subjects, or an equivalent qualification, may be necessary for some courses.

Interview: All applicants must pass an Academic Interview to demonstrate their readiness for the programme.

     - Studying full-time.
     - Course started on or after 1 August 2016.
